PURPOSE: A pipe or shaft cutting device is divided to obtain pipe members of various kinds of lengths by optimization so that a rear end part of the pipe to be an end material is used for a cut pipe member of a length suitable for other order. CONSTITUTION: By a rotary cutting head(4) equipped with at least a sharp edge cutting wheel(5) pressed toward a rotary center shaft(A) according to rotation of the rotary cutting head, a pipe or a shaft is cut. In order to minimize an end material, a distance(m) of grasping clamps(6,7) existing on both sides of a cutting point is reduced as much as possible, preferably, to about 50 mm or below. In order to reduce the end material, also an automatic adjustment of a feeding length of a cutting object pipe(1) is required.
