PURPOSE: A cam/crank signal generating device for a simulator of an electronic control unit(ECU) is provided to remove the complication of testing a real engine but to enable the simulation test without any change of a timing system of the engine ECU or hardware. CONSTITUTION: A cam/crank signal generating device for a simulator of an ECU includes a clock generating part(10) having a voltage controlled oscillator and environmental circuits for generating a sine wave signal from 0.1Hz to 20KHz in forms of square wave of TTK level to be used as a system clock, a counter part(20) applied with a reference clock from the clock generating part for making an address to read a speed generation data and a TDC index signal data, an EPROM(30) storing the speed generation data(crank signal) and the TDC index signal data(cam signal) to output in synchronization with the counter part, an address selector(40) for selecting 4, 5, 6 and 8 cylinders of a simulation engine when reading a data pattern stored in the EPROM, a buffer(50) for temporarily storing the data read from the EPROM and driving a signal output circuit, a signal output part(60) for converting an analogue signal for the engine control unit to recognize the cam signal from the data read from the buffer, and a display part(70) for displaying an engine rpm simulated by the signal output part.
