PURPOSE: A method for imparting wrinkle-resistance and durable press properties to a textile fabric containing cellulosic fiber using a malic acid-based cross linking agent is provided, which is economical and overcomes problems of liberating formaldehyde. CONSTITUTION: This method comprises the steps of: using one or two or more of D-, L- or DL-malic acids to a cellulose or cellulose/synthetic fiber blended fiber product; padding with a processing agent obtained by adding 1 to 11% by weight of a catalyst, 0.1 to 0.5% by weight of a penetrant and 0.5 to 4% by weight of a softening agent; drying; and heat-treating, wherein 2 to 10% by weight of polyurethane is added to increase the performance of the processing agent.
