PURPOSE: A fluid velocity measuring device for a vehicle engine is provided to simplify the measuring method by using a laser doppler velocimetry and obtain precise measurement data, thereby measuring the fluid velocity precisely and effectively in a short time with a low cost. CONSTITUTION: A fluid velocity measuring device for a vehicle engine includes a probe(10) positioned in an intake manifold(14) for sending a predetermined laser signal to a measuring point of an intake valve(13) and recovering the laser signal from the intake valve, a laser supply source(15) and a laser transmission element(16) for the probe, a PM(photomultiplier) tube(17) for amplifying the signal input from the transmission element, a continuous spectrum analyzer(18) for converting an amplified signal of the PM tube to a fluid velocity data, and a screen output element(19).
