PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for transferring the vibration mode of a mobile terminal using infrared rays are provided to automatically transfer the vibration mode of a mobile terminal through an external operation using infrared rays. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for transferring the vibration mode of a mobile terminal using infrared rays consists of a mobile terminal(200) and an infrared sending device(210). The mobile terminal(200) is comprised of a light emitting part(204), a light receiving part(205), a control part(202), and a vibration driving part(201). The light emitting part(204) sends infrared rays under the control of the control part(202). The light receiving part(205) receives infrared signals from the infrared sending device(210). The control part(202) analyzes the infrared signals inputted to the light receiving part(205). The vibration driving part(201) generates vibration according to call arrival under the control of the control part(202). The infrared sending device(210), sending infrared signals at a preset wavelength, is composed of a light receiving part(211), a light emitting part(212), and a control part(204). The infrared signals are sent through the light emitting part(212) under the control of the control part(214). The light receiving part(211) receives the infrared signals transmitted from the light emitting part(204) of the mobile terminal(200).
