METHOD FOR MANAGING CHANNEL STATE BETWEEN MOBILE SWITCHING CENTER AND IWF

PURPOSE: A method for managing a channel state between an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) and an IWF(Inter Working Function) is provided to make channel management information maintained identically between an MSC and IWF by notifying each other that channel information has been changed. CONSTITUTION: Each of the processors in an MSC and an IWF detects the input of a command to block an available channel or to unblock a channel into an available state(S101), and judges whether there is a signal to modify the current channel state(S102). If the signal to modify the current channel state is detected, the associated system changes the current channel state into a required state(S103). The processor of the associated system registers changed channel information in its own state management table(S104) and transmits a message to inform the other system that channel information has been changed(S105). Then the processor activates a counter to execute the counting of a preset time(S106) and judges whether a response indicating that the other system has received the message for changed channel information normally is received within the preset time(S107).
