PURPOSE: A coolant circulating apparatus used in a vehicle is provided to protect internal parts of an engine and to reduce harmful gas by raising the temperature of a cylinder liner. CONSTITUTION: A coolant circulating apparatus includes a radiator(12), a thermostat(18), and a water pump(20). A coolant line is formed between the water pump(20) and a cylinder block(2). A flow control valve is installed in the coolant line. The flow control valve is opened and closed depending on the temperature of coolant supplied from a return line(22), which extends from a water jacket(8) of the cylinder block(2). The flow control valve allows coolant supplied from the water pump(20) to flow into a bypass line(24) and prevents coolant from permeating into the cylinder block(2).
