PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to suppress color unevenness, generation of bubbles in the vacuum region and reduction of contrast, and to have the superior display quality of display images. CONSTITUTION: An LCD includes a pair of substrates(1) made of plastic, an LC(3) interposed between the substrates and plural spacers(4) for holding an interval between the substrates. An average value(x) of thickness of the spacers in a weightless state is specified by the relation of d<x<=1.1d. The number density of the spacers is specified to be 240 spacers or more and 300 spacers or less per mm2. The elastic modulus of the spacers is specified to be higher than that of the substrates. Thereby, the movement of the spacers is suppressed and the rigidity of the substrates is improved.
