PURPOSE: A process for preparing the titled polyester yarn is provided, thereby producing a high-shrinkage yarn capable of maintaining a high shrinkage rate even in a heat treat process such as twisting or sizing after the spinning process. CONSTITUTION: The high-shrinkage polyester yarn is prepared by the process consisting of: spinning a polyester polymer at a speed of 1,000 to 4,000m/min, heat-treating the obtained undrawn yarn at 100 to 160deg.C before drawing, and drawing at a ratio of 1.3 to 4.0. The polyester yarn has a boiling water shrinkage rate of 8 to 20 after the steam set process or the sizing process. |
