PURPOSE: A device is provided to move a work piece from the machine to a stoker by applying a sensing unit detecting availability thereof when a final worker pushes a switch button and if available automatically halting the work piece movement to a chuck as well as automatically coming to stop the machinining operation thereof at the same time. CONSTITUTION: A device comprises a final manipulating switch(40) stopping a gantry loader-operation and a machine at present, a programmable logic control (50) moving a work piece sensing unit to the nearing point of a machine chuck by a motor drive on receiving the signal input from a final manipulating switch(40) and transmitting the data to a numerical control device on receiving the information of a work piece availability in the machine chuck by work piece sensing unit(62), a device(60) for moving the work piece sensing unit(62) returning to the original position after having sent the work piece by nearing to the machine chuck(30) on receiving a motion signal from the programmable logic control (50), a motor drive controlling the drive of the work piece sensing unit-moving unit, and a numerical control device(80) outputting a control signal to stop a gantry loader in a stoker(10) and the machine on receiving the output for the non available work piece in the machine chuck(30) from the programmable logic control(50) from the work piece sensing unit(62).
