DISTRIBUTED DATA PROCESSING APPARATUS AND METHOD

PURPOSE: A distributed data processing apparatus and method is provided to enhance a data transmission or a modem efficiency by periodically receiving commands related with several information of previously set communication states in a data processing unit without the change of a mode and monitoring communication-related information through a PC monitoring system. CONSTITUTION: A modem(19) converts a digital data received from a data processing unit(20) into an analog data. A communication port unit(15) transmits and receives the analog data through the modem(19). A switching unit(16) connects the analog data of the communication port unit(15) with a communication channel. A control logic unit(14) senses an escape character from the modem(19) and transmits the sensed escape character to a command processor(13). The command processor(13) processes several commands connected with the modem(19) when the modem(19) is operated as a command mode.
