PURPOSE: A device for testing the performance of an oil seal is provided to simply and conveniently measure the sealing performance of an oil seal mounted to an engine for selecting proper oil seals proper for respective engines, thereby preventing the failure of the engine due to the mounting of an oil seal lacking the sealing performance. CONSTITUTION: A device for testing the performance of an oil seal includes a negative pressure generating element such as a vacuum pump(5) for forming a negative pressure in an engine(1), a negative pressure measuring element for measuring an inner negative pressure of the engine formed by the negative pressure element, a negative pressure control element(4) for controlling the negative pressure applied to the engine by the negative pressure element, and a sensing element(3) for sensing the introduction of atmospheric air into the engine via an oil seal(7) mounted to the engine while the negative pressure is formed in the engine by the negative pressure element.
