METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR BROADCASTING ADVERTISEMENTS AND FAULTS USING PUBLIC TELEPHONES

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for broadcasting advertisements and faults using public telephones is provided to minimize the damage and loss of public telephones by adding a self-diagnosis function to a public telephone in order to announce a fault state through an external speaker. CONSTITUTION: A public telephone system for broadcasting advertisements and faults is comprised of a detection part(10), a controller(20), a broadcasting interruption switch(30), a message storage part(40) and an external switch(50). The detection part(10) receives the status of a hook switch, a call connection complete signal and a fault state signal. The controller(20) receives a detection signal from the detection part(10) and controls the output of advertisement messages and announcements. The message storage part(40) outputs an advertisement or an announcement through the external speaker(50) according to the control of the controller(20). Also the message storage part(40) modifies and stores a previously stored broadcasting message.
