PURPOSE: A convection device of a microwave oven is provided to efficiently heat food by directly transferring heat to the food at the center of a cavity. CONSTITUTION: A convection device of a microwave oven includes a heater chamber(30) installed in the upper face of a cavity(20), heaters(36a,36b) installed in the heater chamber to generate heat, an axial flow fan(34) installed in the heater chamber to form a convection airflow, a supply part(22) having an orifice portion(24) around the axial flow fan to supply heat into the cavity via the axial flow fan, and intake parts(26a,26b) formed outside the heater chamber to suck air in the cavity into the heater chamber. Heat transferred into the cavity from the heater chamber passes through the axial flow fan and the orifice. Sufficient amount of heat is supplied into the cavity through the orifice, and heat in the heater chamber contacts to food at a high flow velocity. Therefore, loss of the heat generated from the heaters is minimized and prompt heating of the food is possible. Additionally, airflows in the cavity become smooth and the inside of the cavity is evenly heated.
