PURPOSE: A method for preparing an urethane-acrylic water dispersant containing an epoxy group is provided. The urethane-acrylic water dispersant has excellent adhesibility, and it is more cheaply and simply produced than the method for dispersing resin in water. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of: (i) reacting an epoxy resin, an ethylene glycol compound, an epoxy compound having at least oneepoxy group at its terminal, a polyol, a diisocyanate and a compound having at least two hydroxy groups and at least one carboxyl group to provide an anionic epoxy-urethane resin; (ii) after mixing the epoxy-urethane resin with a vinyl monomer, neutralizing the mixture with a tertiary amine and then adding water to the obtained resin at 40-80 deg.C to disperse the resin in the water; (iii) adding 50-90% of a chain extending agent to the dispersed material of the step (iii) according to the equivalent ratio of the unreacted isocyanate; and (iv) after adding a vinyl monomer and an initiator to the product of the step (iii), copolymerizing the mixture.
