PURPOSE: A using authenticating and money charging method for a cellular phone in which a smart card is installed is provided to conveniently charge a money in only cellular phone using a packet data communication and strengthen a using authentication when paying the money to secure the convenience of a user. CONSTITUTION: If a user inputs a "CALL" key of a cellular phone and requests a money charge(S14), the cellular phone transmits packet data including a charge request, a kind of card, a serial number, a necessary money to be charged, and a secret number to a server of a service business network through a packet data call(S15). The server confirms the transmitted packet data to grasp a credit state of a user and transmits packet data including a requested charge money, an authentication key value, and a serial number to the cellular phone through the packet data call(S16). The cellular phone classifies a money charge data from the transmitted packet data to extract the money charge data and confirms whether a serial number corresponding to the authentication key value is identical to its serial number(S17,S18). If the serial number corresponding to the authentication key value is identical to its serial number, the cellular phone instructs a money charge to a smart card and stores extracted money charge information to a memory of the smart card(S19). If a response message for informing that the storage is completed is transmitted to the cellular phone, the cellular phone displays the response message on an LCD(S20,S21). The cellular phone transmits a completion message for informing the completion of a money charge to the server of the service business network(S22).
