PURPOSE: A cooling device for a hot rolling wire rod is provided to minimize the formation of steam film by a sudden cooling due to eddy of cooling water, to improve cooling efficiency of the wire rod by destroying the formed steam film, and to prevent a nozzle from being blocked due to sludge or foreign matters. CONSTITUTION: A cooling device for a hot rolling wire rod includes a nozzle head(20) having a path(22) connected with a wire rod(10) to the inside and an opening(24) formed at both sides of the circumference, a nozzle(30) connected with the opening of the nozzle head, a flange(40) connected to an upper portion of the nozzle, an eddy generating part(50) fixed between the nozzle and the flange, and a cooling water supply hose(60) connected with the flange.
