PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for processing messages in an advanced intelligent network is provided to increase the performance of a system by optimizing the generation of inter-processor communication signals and child processes for inter-block interworking in the process of call setup and release. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for processing messages in an advanced intelligent network consists of an MTP(Message Transfer Part)/SCCP(Signaling Connection Control Part) processing part(510), a call processing block(A), an intelligent network processing block(B), and a basic resource control part(600). The MTP/SCCP processing part(510), connected with an SSP through a No.7 common channel signaling MTP layer-3 protocol, sets up and releases a call with a user and executes interfacing to provide resources to the user. Also the MTP/SCCP processing part(510), connected with an SCP through a No.7 common channel signaling SCCP protocol, interfaces the transmitting and receiving of the data for intelligent network processing. The call processing block(A) provides a specialized resource to the user side according to the call setup request of a subscriber terminal connected to the SSP. The intelligent network processing block(B) is composed of an intelligent network application part(560) and a transaction capability application part(570). The basic resource control part(600) analyzes the call attempt message of an ISDN user connected with the SSP and requests an SRU(Special Resource Unit)(120) to provide a resource for intelligent call connection. Depending on the resource provided from the SRU(120), the basic resource control part(600) executes data processing to notify the SCP that an intelligent call has been generated.
