PURPOSE: A water gate structure is provided to maintain the stored water at constant level and prevent contamination of stored water by discharging the water flowing through the river to the lower end of the water gate. CONSTITUTION: A column(6) is constructed to a wall of water channel, and a support panel(12) is arranged onto the top of the column. A water gate body(1) has rotating shafts(11) arranged at an upper edge of the water gate body, and is inclined toward the water outlet side. The support panel has a cylinder shaft(5) which is arranged at the upper surface of the support panel, wherein the cylinder shaft has a cylinder(4) and a cylinder rod(8) coupled to the cylinder shaft. The water gate body has a rotating shaft(10) which is arranged at the top of the water gate body in such a manner that the rotating shaft is connected to the cylinder rod together with a support member(9). Thus, the water gate body is rotatable by the movement of the cylinder. When the amount of water flowing from the upper stream of the river or water storage reservoir is small, the water gate is maintained at a closed state by the pressure generated by the pressure adjusting system where the cylinder operates according to the signal output from an automatic water level sensor(7). When the amount of water increases, the pressure of the cylinder is automatically removed by the function of solenoid valve, and the water gate body rotates toward the upper portion of the water outlet side by the buoyancy force generated from the interior of the water gate and the water pressure pushing the water gate, to thereby execute water drainage.
