PURPOSE: An explosion-proof structure for a flat Braun tube is provided to improve the explosion-proof force of a Braun tube by mitigating a stress formed by a deformation of a panel. CONSTITUTION: An explosion-proof means is provided on the outer peripheral surface of a funnel(3) which is adjacent to a flat panel(1) of a Braun tube. The explosion-proof means is implemented as a band(11) having a specific yield strength. The fastening tension of the band(11) is in the range of 600 to 3000kgf. The width of the flat surface(12) of the funnel(3) to which the band(11) is fastened is 16mm or more. The explosion-proof means may be implemented as a wire having a specific yield strength. The fastening tension of the wire is in the range of 600 to 3000kgf. The diameter of the wire is 2.5mm or more.
