PURPOSE: To prevent artifact caused by a magnetic field outside of an effective imaging range by reversing the polarities of gradient magnetic fields of at least the first and second RF excitations when applying gradient magnetic fields in order to perform several RF excitations of an atomic nuclear spin. CONSTITUTION: A magnet system 100 is provided with a main magnetic field coil 102, a gradient coil 106, and a RF coil 108. The RF coil 108 generates a RF excitation signal using a drive signal from a RF drive 140, and excites a spin in the body of an imaged subject 300. A received signal at the RF coil 108 is collected by a data collection part 150, and an image is generated based on a magnetic resonance signal which causes the spin. By reversing the polarities of gradient magnetic fields of at least the first and second RF excitations at the RF coil 108, an area where a spin echo is generated is eliminated outside of an effective imaging range to prevent artifact.
