PURPOSE: A folded type steering column apparatus is provided to let the height of a steering wheel down by folding an upper tube and a lower tube of the steering column by a shock applied from an engine, thereby preventing a shock and an injury generated when a head of a driver is bumped into the steering wheel. CONSTITUTION: A folded type steering column apparatus includes an upper tube(20) of a steering column installed at the lower part to a rotary center of a steering wheel(10), a lower tube(30) of the steering column slidably inserted into the lower end diameter of the upper tube, a pin assembly(40) connecting the upper tube with the lower tube, rollers(50) rotatably installed at the lower part of the lower tube, and a wire(60) forming one side end connected to the pin assembly and the other end connected to the upper end of the lower tube of the steering column.
