STRUCTURE FOR REINFORCING CONNECTION PORTION OF CORES OF OPTICAL FIBERS

PURPOSE: A simplified structure for reinforcing the connection portion of two cores of optical fibers is provided which allows the connection portion to be bent. CONSTITUTION: A structure for reinforcing the connection portion of the cores of two optical fibers(1) is constructed in a manner that a cylindrical sleeve(10) having a trumpet-shaped part(11) at both ends surrounds the connection portion of the cores to reinforce the connection portion. The trumpet-shaped part allows the optical fibers to be easily inserted into the cylindrical sleeve. The inner diameter of the cylindrical sleeve corresponds to the outer diameter of the cores of the optical fibers. An epoxy-group adhesive(12) is put into the trumpet-shaped part.
