Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a process for producing semifinished products from biodegradable plant-based materials in which sorbitol is used as a lubricant; (2) a process for interrupting the manufacture of biodegradable products in which the machine is cleaned and filled with a material comprising sorbitol.
