PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a kana-kanji conversion system for easily inputting a mail address at the time of generally inputting a character string even outside an electronic mail system. SOLUTION: When characters in which kana and kanji are mixed are inputted by an input device 4 such as a keyboard in a terminal 1, the inputted characters are stored in an input buffer 7. The characters obtained by converting the contents of the input buffer 7 into a proper character string are stored in a conversion buffer 8 by referring to a kana-kanji conversion dictionary file 11 and a mail address file 12 through a retrieving means 6, and the contents are displayed at a display device 2. At the time of retrieval, when the data are stored not in the mail address file 12 but in the kana-kanji conversion file 11, the characters converted into the character string are copied from the conversion buffer 8 to a re-conversion buffer 9, and a mail address file 12 is retrieved by using the contents of the re-conversion buffer 9 as name data, and the converted result is stored in a reconverted result buffer 10, and the contents are copied to the conversion buffer 8, and displayed at a display device 2. |
