PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain edible strips having high mechanical strengths, and also causing no loss of firmness even after boiled well. SOLUTION: The edible strips are obtained by forming a dried gel product consisting mainly of konjak into strips, or by further twisting the strips or rolling the strips along the longitudinal direction. The strips have high mechanical strengths, and when boiled well after binding a food, moderately extend in response to the swelling of the food so as to maintain a good bound state. |
