PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiple color overlapping image forming device applying air dielectric breakdown charging and developing (ABCD) process. SOLUTION: This multiple color overlapping image forming device provided with plural air dielectric breakdown charging/development (ABCD) imaging units 100, 200, 300 and 400 respectively incorporating a movable image carrier member 502, together with a light receiving body 112 equipped with an optical transmission plane for forming the toner image separation/developing nip 512, and an exposing device 140 for forming the image area and the background of the desired color resolving image by exposing a photo-conductive plane and the toner layer like the image. Then, by providing a bias power source 563 for biasing the image carrier member in the toner image separating/ developing nip to satisfactory potential for breaking air dielectric breakdown for selectively re-charging the background area on the toner layer, the image area on toner layer is separated and developed as the color resolution toner image on the movable image carrier member and the background area remains on the photoreceptor. |
