PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discriminate a coin 2 to be discriminated at a low cost with high precision in simple constitution. SOLUTION: A 1st sensor 71 and a 2nd sensor 72 are arranged across the coin 2 to be detected to detect data regarding the top and reverse surfaces of the coin 2, and on the basis of both the pieces of detection data, the kind and genuiness of the coin 2 are efficiently decided.
