PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reaction tank for fixing carbon dioxide that a filter to be set as a catalyst placing shelf at the bottom of a tray of the reaction tank is prevented from being clogged. SOLUTION: A catalyst 8 filled in a tray 18 in a reaction tank 12 is heated to 400 to 700 deg.C by a heater 19 of a heating furnace 20, and a reaction gas is introduced from a gas flow inlet 16a provided at the lower part. Glass wool 14 provided at a shelf 15 of the lower part of the tray 18 and being sandwiched between nets 13a, 13b from the upper and lower sides is used as a filter of a catalyst placing shelf. A reaction gas is allowed to uniformly diffuse in a space of a cylinder 24 and to pass through the glass wool 14 and subjected to reduction reaction on the catalyst, thereby carbon dioxide is fixed. After reaction for a prescribed time, a cap 25 is opened and the tray 18 is taken out to the outside, and thereafter the fixed carbon 7 is separated from the catalyst 8.
