PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reaction tank for fixing carbon dioxide that a catalytic reaction in the reaction tank can be observed from the outside. SOLUTION: A transparent quartz reaction tube 1 in which a catalyst 8 is filled is provided at the inside of a coil heater 2, and a reaction gas comprising carbon dioxide and methane or hydrogen is introduced from a gas flow inlet 5 provided at the lower part and the reaction gas is heated to 400 to 700 deg.C by the coil heater 2. At the inside of a quartz protecting tube 3, a gold plated thin film 4 for reflecting and insulating heat rays and a slit 10 free from the gold plated thin film are formed. Thereby, the temperature and the flow rate of the reaction gas can be controlled while observing whether the reaction of the reaction gas is proceeding at suitable temperature and flow rate of the gas or not, through the slit free from the gold plated thin film, so that the catalytic reaction can be efficiently carried out.
