PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of generating a coarse velocity table by which suitable velocity values are set for respective players. SOLUTION: When velocity values are set in five steps (N=5), for example, a player depresses a keyboard five times to be gradually stronger. The above operation is repeated from a first circuit to a fourth circuit. Boundary values k1 to k4 are set based on count values c1 to c5 at the first to the fifth key depressing time, which are obtained by the processing of the first circle and a five step velocity table variable, based on these boundary values is generated. In the processings of the three circles of the second circle to the fourth circle, it is confirmed that whether the boundary values k2 to k5 set by this method are appropriate. If it is determined that the values the appropriate, the generated table is registered as an official one. Thus, the velocity table matched with the key-depressing feeling of the player is generated.
