PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably producing a high-purity amide group- containing guanidine derivative having excellent solution stability even in the presence of a surfactant and an electrolyte or its salt. SOLUTION: This method for producing the amide group-containing guanidine derivative of general formula (I) or its salt is characterized in that the method comprises a process for guanidinating an amidoamine and/or its salt with a guanidination reaction reagent, (2) a crystallization and filtration process and (3) a cleaning process with an organic solvent.
