PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect and analyze data in sports by using position/time information obtained from a GPS satellite. SOLUTION: In the collecting/analyzing of the data in the marathon training, a runner runs carrying a handy GPS receiver and position/time data while running are recorded in a storage part inside the handy GPS receiver. Then, after the training, the recorded position/time data are inputted to a personal computer. In the comparative study with records in the past, the reference of the data recorded and preserved in the past is instructed, the analysis processing of the position/time data is executed together with the data recorded this time, a graph for indicating the relationship of a distance and a speed is generated from the position/time data and a chart for indicating the relationship of elapsed time from start and the distance is generated and displayed.
