PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for reducing dusting of solid chemicals for leather processing. SOLUTION: A preparation process of an aqueous composition for leather treatment contains a step wherein a predetermined amount of a solid particulate composition for leather treatment is added to a predetermined amount of an aqueous diluent or carrier in a vessel at a tannery. Here, the solid particulate composition contains, against the total weight of the composition, >=0.1 wt.%, preferably >=0.5 wt.%, more preferably >=1 wt.% particulate absorbent material. Furthermore, the process contains a step wherein the solid particulate composition is dissolved or dispersed in the aqueous diluent or carrier.
