PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device having low-vacuum operability and high ion impulse resistance for driving an orientation controlled field emission electron source XY-addressed with electrode wiring in a convenient and low-cost construction. SOLUTION: Cathode electrode wiring and gate electrode wiring are formed in a wiring construction to provide for selective growth of the field emission electron source on the cathode electrode wiring. A vacuum gap is provided between a supporting plate on a back plate side and the cathode electrode wiring and a getter is arranged on the supporting plate.
