PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium processing method and device which execute at least one among the recording of information to an optical recording medium, the reproducing of the information from the optical recording medium and the erasing of the information of the optical recording medium and can improve the repetitive durability by the recording, erasing or reproducing of the information of the optical recording medium. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium information processing device A which implements the optical recording medium information processing method for executing at least one among the recording of information to the optical recording medium M, the reproducing of the information from the medium M and the erasing of the information of the medium M has a casing 3 which has hermeticity and houses at least the medium M and an oxygen concentration regulating device 10 which regulates the oxygen concentration in the casing 3. The device 10 lowers the oxygen concentration in at least the peripheral part of the medium M when carrying out at least one among the recording, reproducing and erasing of the information to and from the medium M housed in the casing 3.
