PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system with reduced mechanical connection. SOLUTION: The image display system is constituted of a signal supply device 20 and a liquid crystal display device 30. The device 20 transmits a signal for displaying a prescribed image to the device 30 as an optical signal. The device 30 is arranged separately from the device 20 and provided with a liquid crystal layer for displaying an image. The device 30 receives the optical signal transmitted from the device 20, converts the optical signal into an electric signal and applies a voltage to the liquid crystal layer in accordance with the converted electric signal to display the prescribed image.
