PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an index signal generating device having a delay circuit capable of adjusting delay time T without using a variable resistor VR and a capacitor C. SOLUTION: This index signal generating device employs a counter capable of setting an initial value as a delay counter 8 instead of a conventional delay circuit. An index detecting circuit 6 detects the rotation of a rotor 1 through a hall element 3, and generates an original index signal each time the rotor 1 rotates. The counter 8 receives the original index signal and starts counting a clock pulse, and generates the index signal as counter output after it counts the clock pulse by the preset initial value. The counter 8 has a plurality of setting selective terminals (DSL0, DSL1), and takes a delay counter value selected from a plurality of predetermined counter values as the initial value according to the combination of the values given to the respective setting selective terminals. Thus it is possible to eliminate the variable resistor VR and the capacitor C, and facilitate setting the delay time T. |
