rolling mills for continuous manufacture of hot rolled steel bars, rods and similar products, namely rational use of usual rolling mills for rolling large-size billets. SUBSTANCE: rolling mill includes stands for rough, intermediate and final rolling arranged at first side of furnace for heating blanks and cogging stand arranged at opposite side of furnace. Method for rolling blanks in such mill comprises steps of heating blanks in furnace up to increased rolling temperature and pulling them out through second port of furnace for rolling them to rods in cogging stand before guiding rolled rods backwards through furnace for going on their rolling to ready products in stands for rough, intermediate and final rolling arranged at first side of furnace. EFFECT: possibility for using general mills for rolling large-size blanks without displacement of heating furnace and at minimum useful time losses. 7 cl, 5 dwg |
