PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the transmission delay of voice even while suppressing the fall of the multiplexing efficiency of a packet including the video and voice of video telephone. SOLUTION: This multimedia information device which is connected to a line exchange network, multiplexes a header in which multiplexing code information showing a multiplexing pattern and the media information of a transmission object according to the multiplexing pattern corresponding to the multiplexing code information while 1st media information AD requested to be transmitted at a constant period and 2nd media information VD whose multiplexed packet has to be completed in a frame unit are defined at least as transmission objects and transmits the header and the media information as the packet of a format stored in a payload, is provided with temporarily holding means (FIFO) 122 and 132 temporarily hold the AD and BD and a multiplexing means 143 which fetches and multiplexes the media information from the FIFOs, also holds the transmission of the other media information and finishes packet transmission when the AD is generated and processes packet transmission of the 1st media information before a packet to be next transmitted. |
