PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile unit that can properly select a wireless network. SOLUTION: The mobile unit 100 is configured with a transceiver 150, signal processing circuit 152, processor 162, storage medium 166 and GPS receiver 168 or the like. The processor 162 acquires the current position of the mobile unit 100 from the GPS receiver 168 at startup and selects available wireless network, on the basis of the acquired information and information stored in a startup table 122 to start communication. When the processor 162 discriminates, that another wireless network is to be selected during a speech, the processor 162 reconfigures the transceiver 150 and the signal processing circuit 152, so as to select communication with another wireless network.
