摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized, light-weight visual display device capable of attaining an observation viewing angle of 120 deg. at observing with both eyes, and also capable of observing a clear image on the whole screen, besides, which is provided with a wide exit pupil diameter. SOLUTION: The visual display device is provided with a two-dimensional image display element 6 for displaying an observation image, a relay optical system 5 for projecting the real image of the two-dimensional image display element 6 in the air, an eyepiece magnifying mirror 3 for enlarging and projecting the real image in the air and also reflecting and bending the optical axis, and an eccentric correction optical system 4 constituted of surfaces 41 and 42 which are mutually eccentric between the relay optical system 5 and the eyepiece magnifying mirror 3. As for the eccentric correction optical system 4, the surface apex 43 of the surface 41 facing the mirror 3 is positioned inside the viewing axis 7 reflected by the mirror 3, and also, the surface 41 facing the mirror 3 is aspherical and the surface 41 is constituted of a curved surface so that the maximum refractive power may be obtained near the surface apex 43 and the refractive power may be reduced as it comes close to the outer side.
