PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a structure for connecting a transmission member and a mechanism for adjusting an extra length of a connecting terminal, which enable efficient processing for the extra length of the connecting terminal of an optical fiber. SOLUTION: The structure is constituted of protective tubes 6, 7 which are installed in such a manner that protectively covers each optical fiber 20, 21 and which are adjustable in the protective length, a fixing part for fixing a connecting part C between the optical fibers 20, 21, and a storage case 3 for storing the extra length 20a, 21a of the terminals which are not covered with the protective tubes 6, 7 near the connecting part C; the protective tubes 6, 7 are attached to a prescribed position of the storage part, with the protective length adjusted so that the extra length 20a, 21a of the terminals becomes a specified length.
