PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game device reducible in running cost by efficiently reusing a recording medium. SOLUTION: This game device is provided corresponding to a game machine and permits a game, receiving a recording medium capable of recording information for specifying the size of a valuable value owned by a player. The game device has a recording medium insert port for inserting the recording medium; a money insert port for inserting at least either one of bills and coins; a retaining means for retaining the recording medium in the device without returning it to the player on condition that the size of the valuable value of the recording medium is valueless; a valuable value renewing means for adding and renewing the valuable value of the recording medium with money paid in by the player; a recording medium recovery means for recovering the recording medium retained by the retaining means; and a recording medium recovery control means for controlling to recover the retained recording medium in the case of the following recording medium being inserted in the retained state of the recording medium.
