PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water purification device which can surely decompose chlorine contained in tap water and can be scrapped in a garden as such, when the chlorine-decomposing ability of the device is deteriorated. SOLUTION: This water purification device which is useful for watering, is obtained by detachably attaching flexible hoses 3A, 3B to a casing 11 and receiving a water purification filter 35 in the casing 11, and is used for purifying tap water supplied into the casing 11 through the hose 3B with the water purification filter 35 and then draining the purified water, characterized by forming the water purification filter 35 in a cylindrical shape consisting mainly of active carbon fibers and making the tap water to pass through the filter in the axial direction to purify the water. The water purification filter 35 is preferably prepared by mixing the active carbon fibers with polyester fibers, forming a filter sheet from the mixture, and then winding the filter sheet in a cylindrical shape.
