<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the compression ratio in the case of predictive-coding of multi-channel voice signals. SOLUTION: An adding circuit 1a calculates a sum signal (L+R) of two- channel stereo signals L, R, and a subtracting circuit 1b calculates a difference signals (L-R). Difference arithmetic circuits 11D1, 11D2 calculate differenceΔ(L+R),Δ(L-R) between this time and the least time, and predicting-coding circuits (15D1, 15D2, 16D1, 16D2) calculate plural predicted values of the differencesΔ(L+R),Δ(L-R), and calculate each prediction residual of the plural predicted values and the differencesΔ(L+R),Δ(L-R), and a minimum prediction residual is selected.</p> |
