PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a data base system which can deal flexibly and quickly even with addition/modification of the content of business or associated data (including information related to the content of service or client). SOLUTION: Information (e.g. a pointer) for linking data bases (entities) is not included (hierarchic node data base), as a rule, in a data base containing data processed according to each business processing program. On the other hand, a table (hierarchic link table) principally comprising information for linking data bases is formed in correspondence with each business processing program. Each business processing program can accesses a required hierarchic node data base with reference to a corresponding hierarchic link table. When modification in the hierarchic structure of data, e.g. addition of a business based on a new business, is required, a corresponding correction is simply required to reflect on the hierarchic link table.
