PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start to move a plunger in valve closing direction with a high current in the valve closing without enlarging the whole shape to shorten the valve closing time of a solenoid valve. SOLUTION: This direct acting solenoid valve comprises an electromagnetic coil 3, a plunger 7 attractively moved upward in the current-carrying to the electromagnetic coil, a valve element 5 mounted on the lower end of the plunger 7, and a plunger spring 11 for pressing the plunger 7 to a valve seat 5a in the non-current carrying to the electromagnetic coil. A plate spring 10 is arranged in parallel to the plunger spring 7 so as to be compressed by the attractive movement of the plunger 7, so that the spring load of the plate spring 10 is added to the spring load of the plunger spring 11 in the valve closing to start the valve closing with high current.
