PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost voice coding method having simpler configuration and processing, without having to use the means of sub-band coding. SOLUTION: In the case of coding a voice signal, linear predicted values and prediction residuals of the present signals are obtained from the part signals in the time domain by a plurality of predicting devices 12-1, 12-2,..., 12-n of different characteristics to the voice signals, a prediction device having the minimum prediction residual among those of the output signals of the predicting devices is selected, the output signal from the selected predicting device is outputted with a signals for identifying the predicting device. At deciding, the decoding is performed by selecting a proper predicting device by using a signal identifying the predicting device. |
