PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas detector by which a temperature can be compensated at low costs as far as possible and simply. SOLUTION: The gas detector according to this invention is a gas detector by which the existence of a gas can be detected in a state that it is installed in a gas atmosphere. The detector is provided with a gas sensor module 3 which detects the existence of the gas in a state that the detector is installed in the gas atmosphere and which detects the concentration of the gas so as to generate a sensor output. The detector is provided with a power supply 1 which is used to operate the gas sensor module 3. The detector is provided with an amplification means 4 which amplifies data on the sensor output from the gas sensor module 3. The detector is provided with a compensation circuit 6 which is connected to the input side of the amplification means 4 and which reduces the output error voltage of the amplification means 4 caused by an error in the data on the sensor output of the gas sensor module generated due to a change in an ambient temperature.
